DODGE COUNTY, WI — Two people died Saturday evening following a head-on collision in Watertown that left two people injured, according to TMJ4.
The accident happened on a stretch of southbound South Trunk Wisconsin State Highway 26 (Watertown Bypass) north of South Trunk Wisconsin State Highway 19. Watertown Police were dispatched to the scene at around 6:57 p.m., where they were joined by multiple area agencies.
Officials say one vehicle was traveling in the wrong direction when it struck a second vehicle head-on.
Both drivers were pronounced deceased at the scene, and the two passengers from one vehicle were rushed to Aurora Summit Hospital for unspecified injuries. No other passengers were involved.
The cause of the wreck remains unclear at this time, as an investigation remains underway.
