MILWAUKEE, WI — A vehicle accident Wednesday afternoon closed a left lane on Interstate 43/894 at the Mitchell Interchange in Milwaukee’s south side, according to 511 Wisconsin.

The crash happened at the I-43 northbound and I-894 eastbound ramp to I-43 northbound/I-94 westbound, near The Gateway to Milwaukee. It was first reported by 511 at 1:33 p.m.

Details remain limited, but officials said the left eastbound/northbound lane was closed for over 20 minutes following the initial report.

By 1:56 p.m., crews had cleared the accident from the roadway and all lanes were reopened to traffic.

No information indicating a cause of the crash, the number of vehicles involved, or potential injuries has been disclosed.
